MARSHFIELD - A shipment of 41,000 pounds of cheese reported stolen from a warehouse has been recovered in Grand Chute after police received a tip.

WOW Logistics, 1700 Laemle Ave., Marshfield notified the Marshfield Police Department on Jan. 15 that 41,000 pounds of Le Sueur Parmesan cheese, valued at $90,000, was missing, Police Lt. Darren Larson said. A semi had picked the cheese up in the afternoon, but it never reached its intended destination in Elgin, Illinois.

A tip police received Thursday morning said the cheese was stolen and being stored in a Grand Chute facility, according to Marshfield police. The Grand Chute Police Department confirmed the entire shipment of stolen cheese was found and recovered in the city.

Police were not releasing any more information on the recovered cheese Thursday, and no information was available about an additional $70,000 worth of Parmesan cheese reported stolen from a Germantown warehouse on Jan. 22.
